Navigating Dashboard Hub

This page tours the Dashboard Hub (Omega Watch) interface so you can find hubs, dashboards, and widget settings quickly.

Route Map

PathScreen
/hubsDashboard Hubs landing page
/hub/:hubId/dashboardsDashboards inside a hub
/hub/:hubId/dashboards/:idDashboard editor / tabs view
/dashboards/:idDashboard by id (hub context inferred when available)
/dashboards/:id/widget/newCreate widget flow
/dashboards/:id/widget/:widgetIdEdit existing widget

Shell breadcrumbs commonly start with Dashboard Hubs, then the current hub, then the dashboard name.

Dashboard Hubs page

The hubs page is the product entry point. Each hub card shows:

  • Hub name and description
  • Accent / icon presentation for the domain
  • Actions such as Enter Hub or resume shortcuts when history exists

Seeded examples often include Default Hub, Observability, Finance, Security, Sales, and Marketing. Exact hubs in your environment depend on service seeding and admin configuration.

Dashboard list

Inside a hub you see the dashboards that belong to that hub. From this screen you typically:

  • Create a new dashboard
  • Open an existing dashboard in the editor
  • Filter or scan by name, tags, or publish state (depending on build)
  • Return to the hubs list via breadcrumb

Dashboard editor

The editor is where layout work happens. Expect:

AreaPurpose
Header / action railSave, refresh, filters, settings, edit-mode controls
ContainersLayout sections that hold widgets
WidgetsVisualizations and controls inside containers
TabsMulti-page or multi-dashboard tabbing within the hub context
FiltersTime / month / custom filter chrome when enabled on the dashboard

Use edit mode when rearranging containers or widgets. Personal preference layouts may still allow rearrange for view-only users depending on IAM grants.

Widget configuration

Creating or editing a widget opens a dedicated configuration flow. Typical stages:

  1. Choose widget type
  2. Choose data source
  3. Map fields / build query
  4. Adjust display settings and size
  5. Configure refresh
  6. Preview and save onto a container

Live preview helps confirm field mapping before you return to the dashboard canvas.

Common first-session path

  1. Open Dashboard Hubs.
  2. Enter Default Hub (authoring space) or a domain hub such as Observability.
  3. Create a dashboard with a clear name and optional tags.
  4. Add one container and two widgets (for example a KPI and a line chart).
  5. Bind each widget to Mock/Direct Data first to validate layout.
  6. Switch data sources to API/Database/BizOps once the layout is stable.
  7. Publish when the audience is ready.
