Parse
The Parse node converts data between different formats. It can parse raw text into structured data (JSON, XML, CSV) and convert between these formats. This is essential when working with APIs, file-based integrations, and systems that use different data formats.
Actions
| Action | Description |
|---|---|
parse:jsonToXml | Convert a JSON object to XML |
parse:xmlToJson | Convert XML to a JSON object |
parse:csvToJson | Parse CSV text into a JSON array |
parse:jsonToCsv | Convert a JSON array to CSV text |
parse:yamlToJson | Convert YAML to JSON |
parse:jsonToYaml | Convert JSON to YAML |
parse:parseJson | Parse a JSON string into an object |
parse:parseXml | Parse an XML string into a structured object |
parse:stringify | Convert an object to a JSON string |
parse:jsonToXml
Converts a JSON object into an XML document string.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
input | object/string | Yes | JSON object or variable reference |
rootElement | string | No | Name of the root XML element. Defaults to root |
declaration | boolean | No | Include XML declaration header. Defaults to true |
indent | boolean | No | Pretty-print the XML. Defaults to true |
parse:xmlToJson
Converts an XML document into a JSON object.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
input | string | Yes | XML content |
trimText | boolean | No | Trim whitespace from text nodes. Defaults to true |
arrayNotation | boolean | No | Always wrap child elements in arrays for consistency. Defaults to false |
parse:csvToJson
Parses CSV text into a JSON array of objects using the header row as field names.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
input | string | Yes | CSV content |
delimiter | string | No | Column delimiter. Defaults to , |
hasHeader | boolean | No | First row is a header. Defaults to true |
columns | array | No | Column names (required if hasHeader is false) |
trimValues | boolean | No | Trim whitespace from values. Defaults to true |
Given CSV:
name,email,department
Alice,alice@example.com,Engineering
Bob,bob@example.com,Marketing
Result:
parse:jsonToCsv
Converts a JSON array of objects to CSV text.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
input | array | Yes | JSON array of objects |
delimiter | string | No | Column delimiter. Defaults to , |
includeHeader | boolean | No | Include a header row. Defaults to true |
columns | array | No | Specific columns to include (and their order). If omitted, all keys are included |
parse:yamlToJson / parse:jsonToYaml
Converts between YAML and JSON formats.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
input | string/object | Yes | YAML string (for yamlToJson) or JSON object (for jsonToYaml) |
parse:parseJson
Parses a JSON string into a usable object.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
input | string | Yes | JSON string to parse |
parse:parseXml
Parses an XML string into a structured object for field-level access.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
input | string | Yes | XML string to parse |
parse:stringify
Converts a JSON object to a formatted or compact JSON string.
Parameters
| Parameter | Type | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
input | any | Yes | Object to stringify |
pretty | boolean | No | Pretty-print with indentation. Defaults to false |
Connection
No connection required. This is a data transformation node.
Output
The result type depends on the action: an object for parsing operations, a string for serialization operations, and an array for csvToJson.
